**Environmental Education**

Our programmes engage over 6,000 children a year and our aims are to inspire young minds to respect and want to care for our natural world. We teach young people about the wonders of nature and biodiversity. We work across multiple sites in Essex including our main site in Chatham Green (400 acres of mixed woods, arable farming, and meadows), a 100 acre wild wood and Hatfield Forest. In addition to Spain’s hall which is shifting their current land management system of over 500 hectares to a fully holistic, exemplar of Sustainable Land Stewardship.

**What will you be doing**:
Supporting the Education Team in leading and running environmental education visits. Leading classes and running workshops outdoors about the natural world. Inspiring young people to care for and respect the environment through first-hand experience. Risk assessing and setting up prior to visits and maintaining a high quality and standard of educational delivery. Communicating with staff, pupils and parents to ensure all young peoples needs are catered for.

We are looking for someone with experience working with young people, including large groups and SEND classes. You need to enjoy and be familiar working outdoors and have an interest and knowledge of the natural world.
- A team player who loves nature and believe in the same ethos as the Charity’s
- Experienced youth worker / outdoor facilitator
- Outdoor skills trained, e.g. bushcraft
- Qualified first aider
- Experiential knowledge of natural world or qualification in environment and conservation or similar.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role.

**Job Type**: Freelance

**Salary**: £16.00 per hour
