**Interim Director of Communications (12 months)**

**£100,000 - £125,000 (or day rate considered)**

**The Midlands (hybrid)**

As contracts go, this is a meaty one Not only will you be taking the reins of the Comms function for a prestigious financial services organisation for 12 months, you’ll also be managing a full re-brand for the organisation and their products. If innovation,transformation and pioneering work get you excited, this could be a dream fit if you have the experience required to lead them through a transitional period in 2023.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Shaping and influencing the brand, image and communications going forward, encompassing external and internal communications - positioning the business in line with its purpose and setting it apart from the competition - people focused, customer focusedand tech focused.
- Act as an advisor to the CEO and C-Suite on all strategic communications.
- Serve as a thought leader and advocate of their values, providing counsel and hands-on support to enhance our storytelling capabilities.
- Align the communications goals to the business objectives and instil the need to consider the reputational impacts of any decisions.
- Strategic advice, counsel, and strategies on mitigating reputational risks and lead their crisis communications strategy.
- Maximise the impact of communications channels from social media through to the intranet.
- Lead innovation within the function adopting new technologies and channels of communication.
- Lead and develop the employee communication strategy aligned to values and business strategy.
- Manage the communications strategy around CSR and charity activity with key strategic partners & work closely with HR on the business’s D&I plans.
- Support our financial reporting, ensuring our communications and guidance to the market is accurate and in line with our strategic goals.
- Provide accessible and transparent media relations communicating their key competitive differentiators.
- Ensure media enquiries are managed in a timely and consistent manner and serve as a spokesperson for the company.
- Build and manage a wide variety of stakeholders including industry groups, journalists, influencers, and government.
- Develop and maintain communications processes and policies.
- Measure and report on the impact of the communications strategy and activity.
- Build, lead and develop a team of communications professionals with broad expertise.
- Oversee our Brand and Corporate Communications agencies.

**Experience required**:

- Extensive communications leadership expertise.
- Commercially astute with experience in financial communications.
- Skilled in both traditional and digital channels of communications.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Gravitas and outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing needs and priorities.
- Problem solver with excellent judgement and commercial awareness.
- Inclusive, collaborative, and personable.

- Experience in financial services preferable, more important is the individual’s ability to adapt to the sector and get under the skin of the organisation quickly, as well as becoming a key advocate of the business and it’s aims.
- Experience in a regulated environment would be beneficial.
- An individual with a bright, entrepreneurial mindset who thrives in a supportive, non-corporate environment.
