Financial Director

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Director to work with a growing and ambitious company that specializes in the aviation industry.

Working remotely the successful Finance Director with assist with the design and implementation of finance controls and processes, work closely with the Directors and provide strategic planning for the development and continued growth of the company andFinance function.

**Financial Director - Remote working - Sudbury, Suffolk**

**The role**
- Continue to develop and refine the weekly, monthly, and yearly reporting procedures
- Providing weekly and monthly management accounts
- Prepare the bank’s financial statements and exercise oversight of associated controls to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the financial statements in compliance with appropriate accounting standards
- Implement a robust automated regulatory reporting framework and oversee regulatory reporting
- Create and maintain a Finance Manual and Financial Risk Management Policy
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory capital and liquidity requirements
- Manage the budgeting and business plan processes and ensure alignment with regular evaluation of the bank’s capital and liquidity requirements
- Oversee the bank’s tax affairs, ensuring that tax obligations are minimised within the law and good practice and manage compliance with the HMRC Code of Practice on Taxation for Banks
- Ensure appropriate expenditure control is in place and operates effectively
- Oversee other finance functions, including purchase ledger, reconciliations, and payroll.
- Analysing and recommending systems, controls and process improvement.
- Building, recruiting and training a strong finance team
- Financial accounting, reporting, forecasting and development accounting
- Technical and strategic financial management and accounting skills gained in a senior finance role within a large and/or complex organisation
- Manage year end accounts and annual audit
- Knowledge of exchange rates and potential to profit from any currency movements
- Managing payments runs to suppliers and third parties
- Hold a relevant accounting qualification, ACCA, ACA or CIMA with a minimum of 5 Years PQE
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience of developing and improving internal controls and accounting procedure
- Proven people management skills and experience
- Previous experience working at a group level and with international ties
