Peterborough, United Kingdom Yorkshire Building Society Full time

Are you ready for a role with real responsibility, where you can not only develop your skills but also see the impact of your work? This may be the opportunity for you if so

By joining as a Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Consultant, you’ll be providing essential support to a successful, and growing, Commercial Lending team. You’ll be able to learn and develop into an SME in a supportive and collaborative team.

**About the role**

The CDD Team are an enabling team for our Commercial Lending business. That means you’ll be a trusted advisor and SME for the lending teams, helping them take ownership of CDD. You’ll be making sure we are providing advice that not only enables them to meet their lending plan, but also ensures we are making fair decisions, lending responsibly and lending within our risk appetite.

You’ll do this by reviewing and approving customer risk assessments and assessing whether customers are within our financial crime risk appetite. Alongside this, you will support the Commercial Lending department’s adherence to the Group’s Risk Appetite Framework in relation to financial crime risks, with a particular focus on decision making and governance reporting.

Underpinning this will be your commitment to making decisions with integrity, balancing commercial objectives with responsible lending. You’ll also help ensure that CDD activities are applied consistently, and they comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

This is a hybrid role, with regular presence in our Peterborough office, as well as occasional travel to other sites. We'll talk to you more about this in the process.

**About you**

- Successfully understand and identify a business structure and a business entity with particular attention to understanding who the Ultimate Beneficial Owner is.

To determine whether our Lending Managers have obtained enough information in line with our Financial Crime Business Standards as well as our Standard Operating Procedure.
