Oxford, United Kingdom University of Oxford Full time

We are looking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher to work within the flourishing theme of the NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). The theme is led by Professor Willem Kuyken and Professor Ilina Singh and will investigate how non-clinical environments might be utilised to enhance public health and mental health. Its main aim is to enable flourishing initiatives and interventions for patients and non-patients, delivered in spaces beyond the clinic. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry, at the Warneford Hospital.

The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31 March 2026).

You will be primarily responsible for setting up work streams and the delivery of work packages. This will include setting up clear task objectives, project management, writing up and dissemination. You will need to develop productive collegial working relations and will provide academic and ad hoc supervision to research students (undergraduate and postgraduate).

You should have or be close the completion of a PhD in a relevant area (e.g., psychology, neuroscience), along with an established research programme in a related field as evidence-based by publications. You will have sufficient specialist knowledge to develop research projects and methodologies (including ethics systematic reviewing, development of logic diagrams and trials, especially feasibility and pilot trials), along with the ability to lead and motivate a team of research staff. With excellent communication and collaboration/team working skills, you will have an organised but flexible approach to work. A background and/or experience that spans humanities and sciences would be desirable as would an interest in flourishing and different approaches to the development of flourishing.

The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday on 17th April 2023
