**New to Market - Building Surveyor - Glasgow**

**Salary - £32800 (1 Year FTC)**

The Building Surveyor will be responsible for the fabric maintenance of the property including statutory compliance. The role includes cost planning and budget control for maintenance and minor projects as well as reporting on the management of risk relatedbuilding fabric issues. Ensure a safe environment is provided and maintained within all Buildings. This post holder will be required to investigate building fabric issues and be competent at delivering solutions for both managerial and technical issues.

**Key Responsibilities include**
- Develop a planned maintenance and refurbishment programme for teaching rooms, liaise with Mechanical, Electrical and Learning services Colleagues to ensure the delivery of modern teaching facilities.
- Carry out fabric inspections and building surveys, prepare detailed reports to ensure buildings are safe to occupy and compliant with relevant legislation and assist with the preparation and delivery of the annual planned maintenance programme.
- Perform the role of Project Manager for the implementation of maintenance and refurbishment projects. Report on budget expenditure and cash flow projections
- Prepare technical reports which contain case for investments, detailed project budgets and supporting cost plans and supporting statements.
- Preparation of project programmes, technical specifications, tender documents for maintenance and minor project works packages. Liaise with the Procurement Team regarding the administration and issue of all tender documents
- Carry out tender reviews, assist in the preparation of tender recommendation reports, in liaison with the Procurement team.
- Handover completed projects to the client, liaise with Operation and Maintenance staff.Ensure all commissioning is carried out correctly and that systems operate as designed and in line with requirements.Provide and approve Health and Safety files ensuringthat maintenance regimes and contract recommendations are included
