Are you an experienced Design Technician looking for your next step? Do you have experience working in Sheet Metal Manufacturing?

We are currently working alongside an innovative and forward-thinking manufacturer based out of Newton Aycliffe, which is looking to expand its Design and Engineering team. They offer a fantastic work-life balance with early finish Fridays.

**Within the role you will be expected to carry out the following duties**:

- Create 3D models from customers' drawings/schedules ready for production
- Produce detailed drawings for fabrication
- Production of assembly drawings/instructions to aid on-site installation, if and when required
- Collaboration with other departments to ensure customer expectations are met
- Liaising with customers should any design/fabrication issues arise
- Create DXFs for all parts on Punch Schedule ready for import into Sigma/Stream Punch
- Import SolidWorks models/DXFs into SigmaNest/Stream Punch
- Clean up the geometry of flat patterns prior to tooling
- Nest and tool parts in the most efficient and economical way

**To be considered for the position you must hold some, if not all, of the following skills/qualifications**:

- Working knowledge of 3D SolidWorks (specifically sheet metal and drawings)
- Working knowledge of punch machinery
- Effective technical knowledge of various fabrication techniques
- An understanding of engineering drawings and principles
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Good numeracy and computer skills
- Clear communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
