**12-month fixed-term contract (Maternity Cover)**

We are looking for a Financial Crime Investigator to work full time within the **Financial Crime Function**. You will be responsible for the detection and prevention of Financial Crime through the investigation of high risk or suspicious activity, fraud referrals or monitoring of patterns and trends. In addition, you will play a key role in the Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorism Financing regime within Ikano Bank UK (IKB), executing the firm’s Anti Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing prevention activities across the UK branch.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Undertaking AML/KYC and Financial Crime activities in line with documented processes. Escalating cases for approval where necessary supported with a clear recommendation and justification
- Reviewing and timely completion of all Financial Crime related transaction monitoring alerts, investigating any irregularities, formulating any internal or external reports as necessary
- Investigating internal Suspicious Activity Reports, ensuring that all reports are accurately logged and escalated to the MLRO/Deputy MLRO when required.
- Responding to orders or warrants presented by investigators and determine any additional investigation, action, and notification to the UK authorities
- Evaluating, defending and monitoring chargebacks from suspected fraudulent transactions
- Acting as a central point of contact on Financial Crime, AML or KYC issues for all co-workers, official investigating agencies and victims of financial crime
- Maintaining an up to date awareness of current statutory and regulatory AML and Financial Crime obligations, current compliance best practices and relevant future developments through attendance at training courses, seminars and other events organised by appropriate professional bodies and trade associations
- Participating in team meetings, ensuring personal and team objectives are achieved, and fraud losses are minimised
- Encouraging innovation and insight to improve processes, reduce costs and work smartly

**What will you have?**
- Proven knowledge of concepts, tools and processes in the detection. Also have experience in prevention and investigation of Financial Crime, AML and CTF.
- Either have a background in AML or Financial Crime from the banking sector or a large multinational e-commerce business
- In-depth knowledge of the UK Financial Crime regulatory environment
- Commercial, business-focussed with strong judgement and integrity
- Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation skills and ability to present confidently and to work effectively with employees and management at all levels
- IT literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel and Word
- Experience working with TruNarrative, FinScan, Call Validate, Experian, CIFAS or similar systems.
- Calm and diplomatic, with strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to display various influencing styles.

**Academic and/or professional qualifications**:
Essential.
- Degree or equivalent combination of training and experience in relevant field

Desirable.
- Minimum of industry recognised Financial Crime/AML accreditation
