**Future Prospects**
- Possible full time position at the end, with a starting salary of £19,000. Other positions are unknown at this time but will be discussed close to the ending of the apprenticeship

**The Law Practice**
- Formed in 1999 by the merging of two well-established Dorset Firms,, whose history can be traced back over 100 years. We have considerable experience of dealing with the requirements of both business and private clients, in many areas of law.
- The firm has 3 partners and offices in Weymouth, and Dorchester

**Environment**
- Office premises situated inside an old residential building
- The office can be busy and frantic one minute and quiet and focussed the next, each department has its own office areas.
- The apprentice will be sat with our current receptionist.

**Your role**

The apprentice will aid in the smooth running of the Family Department and aid in other departments where necessary to aid all staff to be more efficient.
- To answer calls into the Family department.
- To deal with Clients arriving in person, and providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and handle any queries conveyed by the client to relevant team members.
- To always work in accordance with the policies and practices defined within the Office Manual and to liaise with The Business Manager regarding suggested improvements to any aspect of the quality system.
- Ensuring Client Confidentiality at all times.
- To assist with incoming and outgoing post, filing, photocopying, document preparation.
- Diary management for Fee Earners and file preparation for clients.
- Any ad-hoc duties around the office, as is deemed appropriate

**Desired skills**
- **4-9 grades English and maths GCSE's**:

- Confident with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage reception in conjunction with other administration duties
- Good attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of ICT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm’s in-house systems where training will be given
- Excellent presentation, organisation and timekeeping skills
- Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
- The ability to use own initiative, be able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Must be well-presented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner
- Good organisational skills
- Good client care skills
