**Client Care Advisor/Receptionist**

**About us**:
You will be joining a team of three other Client Care Advisors, Practice Manager Sue, and Hatty our top office dog, who work alongside our clinical team to ensure we continue to provide the fantastic service we have become known for.

It’s important to us that our team enjoy the time they spend at work together, particularly as veterinary practice can provide its own unique challenges. Recent ‘in-house’ team bonding activities have included easter egg hunts and pancake day and outside of work we enjoy pub quizzes, dog walks, pottery painting and, in the summer, have the odd post work social in a ‘pop-up’ pub close to the practice. Our practice manager Sue arranges our diary well in advance to make sure we all have the time to do what we love. Last year a group of us completed the Macmillan mighty hike half marathon and this year have started training and fund-raising ready to take on the full marathon. It’s testament to our team that many have joined us following student placements or after recommendation by current staff.

Another part of our practice ethos is that we ‘Get better every day’ and that everyone’s opinion always matters. This is achieved through regular practice meetings where everyone has chance impact the way we work. We are also an accredited cat and rabbit friendly practice.
Our practice is based in its own building and is large and spacious with windows letting in natural light. We have air-conditioning for those long, hot days in summer and are situated opposite a beautiful park and next to a supermarket. We have ‘bean to cup’ coffee and a vast selection of teas. There’s a sandwich van who comes daily if you forget lunch and we have a pantry of food to share. We doubt anyone chooses a job because they sometimes have cake, but just in case you would, ours is often from Bettys bakery as we have many clients who work for them.
The practice is wheelchair accessible; we have a hearing loop and a digital stethoscope and would welcome a discussion about what accessibility means to you. We are an inclusive practice and believe everyone should be able to be their full selves at work.

**The Role**:
Most of this role will involve working front of house on reception. There will also be some time dedicated to other administrative tasks for which office space is allocated away from the front desk.

**Your main responsibilities in this role will include**:

- Booking appointments, managing payments and cashing up at the end of the days
- Running basic laboratory tests after training by our experienced nursing team
- Stock rotation and managing orders.
- Additional administrative tasks such as booster reminders, following
- up on care plans, and registering ID chips
- Assisting in co-ordinating the smooth running of the practice from front of house.

Training is provided to all of our reception team and, in addition, all our reception team hold the Bronze ‘British Veterinary Receptionist Association’ qualification which is something you will be enrolled on as well.

**This is a part time role working 30 hours a week including Saturdays. We are open to fewer long shifts or more short shifts to fit in with your out of work commitments.**

**Who are we looking for?**

The service we provide is very much a client centred one and we have a really loyal and valued client base. As part of our reception team you will be at the forefront of this as one the first faces clients, and their pets, see when they walk through the door. For this reason you will need to be intuitive to the needs of others and feel comfortable when faced with changing situations such as welcoming a client who has just bought a new puppy and Kitten into the practice to supporting someone who has just had some bad news about their pet or is worrying about their pets health. While challenging at times, one of the best things about the role is seeing wagging tails (or purring cages) leaving following a period of treatment.
