Plumbing Tutors Instructors needed for January start
Here at Central Building & Welding Academy we offer level one and two trade courses in construction and also bespoke training courses in construction trades.
We provide hands-on learning that really makes a difference to our students who are either retraining or upskilling, as a result of our continued growth and expansion we are looking for experienced tutors to help move us to the next level of offering a mix of level two and three qualifications in all aspects of construction. (if you don't have experience of teaching but have vast experience of working in a trade you will still be considered as training can be given)
We are looking for trade specific plumbing tutors to deliver the practical training of level 1 and level 2 diploma in plumbing to small cohorts of adult learners.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Carry out learner inductions and associated processes
- Deliver a timetable of learning as agreed with the Skills Academy Manager
- Undertake qualification delivery and planning
- Ensure ILPS are completed appropriate to individual learner requirements, including SMART target setting and incorporating planned review points
- Complete registers and documentation to the required standards of the contract and ensure that these are communicated to colleagues within their required deadlines
- Monitor performance of the learners on an ongoing basis and effectively report to management
- Ensure that support systems are provided to facilitate positive retention, achievement and progression
- Timely completion of assessment and documentation to meet awarding body, funding body and organizational requirements
- Submit portfolios in a timely manner for interim and summative verification to the internal moderator.
- Contribute where appropriate to learner disciplinary action requirements.
- Maintain a log of the equipment used by the learners in your department and take appropriate measures to prevent the loss of equipment through theft.
- Promote and ensure safe working practices in line with current Health and Safety legislation, including health and safety department inspections and risk assessments
- Undertake appropriate learning and development activities as required for the job role.
- Ensure the work area is clean and safe for all the staff and learners on a daily and ongoing basis
Essential Knowledge, experience and desirable qualities.
- Qualified to at least level 2 in plumbing
- Recognized teaching or training qualification we can help with this if you've not got experience of teaching.
- Minimum 2 years experience of working on the tools in plumbing
- A1 assessors qualification, if you do not have this then we can also help with this

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
