This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Officer to work within a busy team based in Swindon, where you can shine and bring a safe pair of hands to our small Finance team. With a varied role from cash allocation to the preparation of management accounts, no day is quite the same. Working closely and reporting to the Finance and Business Executive, the role is diverse with an opportunity for growth and development.

**Key Tasks**:

- Establish payment cycles, taking advantage of preferable terms when applicable
- Assist the Finance Assistant with daily bank reconciliations and update the cashflow accordingly. Report any concerns to the Finance Executive.
- Prepare documentation from payments and receipts received for sales and purchase ledger entry.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions and correct any discrepancies
- Process month end and close ledgers, ensuring all bank accounts and sundry accounts agree.
- Monitor credit and debtors reports accounts to ensure payments are up to date and chase for any missing invoices.
- Produce aged debtor report for monthly submission to Finance Executive
- Audit Nominal Ledgers to ensure invoices and receipts are appropriately coded
- Reconcile the office Petty cash, prepare cheques received and deposit at the bank.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Educated to GCSE level or above (including English and Maths)
- AAT qualified
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and good numerical skills
- Attention to detail, able to work to a high degree of accuracy
- Due to the nature of the role, driving is essential
- Experience in a similar role would be required and formal qualifications an advantage
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and ability to learn and put into practice new skills

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
