**Responsibilities**:

- Administration, maintenance and monitoring of remote servers (Linux)
- Research and development of new systems.
- Out of hours maintenance work
- On-call emergency response and recovery of servers
- 3rd line user support.
- Support/maintenance of office/staff systems
(Windows/Mac/Linux desktops and laptops, Linux/Windows servers)
- Some travel required (infrequent visits to datacentres)

**Skills**:
**Required**
- Postfix (or equivalent strong SMTP server experience)
- Dovecot (IMAP/POP3) (or related - Courier, Cyrus, UW)
- MySQL with Replication / Mirroring
- Apache2 (including mod_rewrite and virtual hosts)
- Networking (TCP/IP, SSL, switches, DNS etc)
- High Availability Systems / Load Balancing
- Server hardware and technologies (eg RAID, Load Balancing)
- Server Performance Analysis / Troubleshooting
- BASH/Perl

**Highly Desirable**
- Windows Server/Active Directory
- Virtualisation (VirtualBox, LXC)
- Deployment automation (eg Puppet)
- Samba

**Qualifications / Experience**:

- Systems administration experience, preferably in an ISP/ESP/Datacentre environment or similar with at least several hundred users if not several thousand.
- Ability to cope with a system architecture consisting of several servers in a High Availability configuration.
- Very comfortable with emergency response and out of hours requirements
- Degree qualification desirable but not mandatory.
- Fluent fast English required.

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
