**Summery**:
As a Cemetery Operative, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cemeteries and crematorium. Reporting to the Cemeteries and Crematorium Manager, you'll be responsible for a variety of tasks, including cremations, burials, horticultural duties, and ensuring the safety of headstones.

**Your Duties**:

- Conducting cremations and burials in accordance with established Codes of Practice.
- Undertaking horticultural and gardening duties as directed.
- Identifying and addressing headstone safety concerns.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Assisting with funeral services and providing support to grieving families.
- Conducting grave digging and maintenance tasks.
- Operating relevant equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Reinstating monuments and underground vaults as needed.
- Providing assistance and guidance to visitors in locating graves and memorial trees.

**Your Profile**:

- Minimum one year of experience in commercial horticultural work and customer-facing roles in a sensitive environment.
- **Commercial Horticultural Work**: This includes activities such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, turfing, seed sowing, planting, sweeping, and removal of litter and rubbish.
- **Dealing with the Public**: Applicants should have experience interacting with the public in a tactful and sensitive manner within similar environments, such as funeral parlours, cemeteries, or parks.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Two or more years of relevant experience in the specified areas.

- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage performance, prioritise tasks, and exceed targets.
- Team-oriented mindset with leadership capabilities.
