Funeral Operative

**Here at Spencer Clarke Group we are currently hiring for a funeral operative to work for Brent funeral services.**

**Job details**

1. Support and assist Brent Funeral Service to ensure each funeral ceremony meets the
specific requests and requirements of the person who has died, together with their family.

2. Collect the deceased from their home address, care and nursing homes, hospitals etc. as
part of on call rota.

3. Assist in the preparation of the deceased for viewings and for funeral.

4. Driving funeral vehicles and bearing at funerals

**What is required as a funeral operative**

1. Assist and undertake the preparation and presentation of the body entrusted to our care in a
professional, caring and dignified manner, including cleansing and dressing.

2. Ensuring you are familiar with each individual funeral arrangement, completing pre and post
funereal checks and ensure all aspects are conducted in accordance with the wishes of the
family.

3. Prepare coffins, fit out and line including engraving of name plates

4. Prepare funeral cars including clean and valet with regular polishing

5. Ensure all vehicles are checked both pre and post use, ensuring they are fit for purpose and
of the highest quality

6. Act as driver for all vehicles including hearses, ambulances and limousines in accordance
with the Highway Code and procedures, reporting any damage of faults in a timely manner.

7. Act as bearer for funerals as directed, ensuring correct attire is worn, a smart appearance
and it is carried out professionally with dignity.
8. At all times be ready to deal with removals from hospital or home (includes day and on call
nights/weekends)

9. Clean mortuary, preparation rooms, workshops and other areas

10. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and all employees are required to act in such a
way that at all times safeguards the health and well-being of children and vulnerable adults

11. Carry out duties with due regard to the Council’s Customer Care, Equal Opportunities,
Information Governance, Data Protection and Health and Safety policies and procedures

12. Undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of this
post.

**What's on offer**

Working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00-16:00.

you will be working 36 hours a week.

the pay rate is £14.81 per hour

**REQUIREMENTS**

MUST HAVE A DRIVING LICENCE and a DBS is required but one can be sourced.
