**About the Ocean Conservationist Role**

ORCA have been working on board cruise ships and ferries since 2001, giving guests unforgettable wildlife experiences and enhancing their understanding of the marine environment. ORCA Ocean Conservationists aim to give guests on board an amazing experience, engaging and inspiring them from the start of their voyage to the end.
They will act as a passionate ambassador for ORCA and are the face of the charity, with our team reaching tens of thousands of guests each year. ORCA Ocean Conservationists will develop their own materials, programmes and activities to give a once-in-a-lifetime experience to the guests on board, delivering lectures, workshops, deck watches, games, activities and excursions that will truly change lives and inspire people. They will need to be able to quickly adapt to any situation that may arise on board, and no two voyages are the same so every trip is an opportunity to try something new. Whilst on board Ocean Conservationists will also collect vital data about the cetaceans seen during their voyage - though this is not the main focus of the programme, it gives us a critical insight into the health of the ocean, and so we aim to use these platforms of opportunity to help monitor whales and dolphins globally.
