**JOB OVERVIEW**

To provide day to day support within the Commercial Department and liaise between factory / site teams / suppliers regarding materials.

**OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Specify correct materials for batching and issue to production department.
- On an adhoc basis deal with any matters arising between Suppliers/Site/OCM/Customers in connection with materials to or from site and factory.
- Maintain accurate product count for loss prevention and accounting purposes.
- Deal with any stock discrepancies or quality issues efficiently.
- Develop skills within the Commercial Department.
- Main liaison between factory / site / clients regarding materials.
- Issue purchase orders on all aspects of buying.
- Inform suppliers of slippage and amend on our FrameIT system.
- In the absence of the Commercial Manager attend weekly OCM meetings.
- Liaise with factory continually regarding materials and deliveries.
- Build on existing relationships with the supplier base.
- Communicate any supply or supplier risks to the wider team.

**What you'll need?**:
**PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE**
- Experience in purchasing, production control and supply chain management.
- Experience of MRP systems.
- Relevant professional training/qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential.

**Desirable **_(training can be provided if required)_
- Previous experience of timber frame construction.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
- Is able and willing to work flexibly to suit the needs and demands of the role. This may involve potentially travelling away from home if required to visit alternatives factory sites.
- Is confident, considered and takes ownership for Material Management. Is self-aware, resilient, optimistic and has a collaborative approach to working.
- Has strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities.
- Has advanced people skills and the ability to communicate to a diverse range of people, as will need to communicate to employees and contractors at all levels.
