**Role**
We are looking to recruit a Curriculum & Guidance Assistant for our Leicester Client.

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Communications and Administration Manager

JOB PURPOSE: To provide efficient and effective administrative support for curriculum and guidance areas and to support the provision of a high quality reception and print services function.

This is a full time, term time only position 37 hours per week. Working hours are 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday - Thursday & 8.30am-4.00pm on Fridays.

The hourly rate for this post is £10.46

Start Date: As soon as possible

End Date: Until permanent member of staff is appointed

**Duties and responsibilities**
To provide administrative support as required for a group of curriculum areas and/or
guidance teams:
To provide administrative support for trips and visits for curriculum area teams to include
the administration and advertising of trips on Wise pay, the ordering of coaches and the checking of consent forms
To provide administrative support as required for the Heads of Studies teams
To assist with the administrative tasks in connection with the post - the franking of letters
and parcels for collection and the distribution of post across the College
To assist with the provision of central printing services, completing jobs accepted by Print
Services, using the copying machines
To assist with the requisitioning orders for the relevant Communications and Administration cost centre
To provide administrative support as required within the Communications and Administration team
To provide additional support and capacity to the cover administration team and/or curriculum area leaders to manage student communications during periods of high demand

When working at Reception

To assist with the operation of the telephone switchboard and deal with telephone
enquiries and messages
To provide the first point of contact concerning staff absence, informing HR and the
relevant line manager of the absence promptly
To assist with the procedures for visitors to the College, preparing and issuing of visitor
and parking passes, welcoming visitors to the College, advising them visitors of the College’s safety procedures and ensuring prompt collection by their host
To assist with student, staff and visitor enquiries
To assist with the procedures for the issuing of temporary and lost cards to students and staff

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
? To ensure the adherence to the College’s policies and procedures with regard to the
safeguarding of, and promotion of, the welfare of students
To be responsible for Health and Safety within areas of own responsibility
To support, promote and operate in line with the College mission and values

**Skills and experience**
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
A good standard of general education
including English and Maths at GCSE grade
C or above
IT qualifications ( for example RSA Stage 11
Word Processing, ECDL or CLAIT

RELATED EXPERIENCE
Experience of working in an administrative
capacity
Experience of dealing with enquiries in
person or by phone
Experience of working in a college or school context
Experience of operating a switchboard
Experience of use of reprographics machines

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Confident and competent in the use of IT in a
working environment
Ability to respond and communicate with
others showing sensitivity, clarity and focus
Ability to plan and prioritise work effectively
and meet deadlines
Good written and oral communication skills
