**HOTEL RECEPTIONIST**

OVERALL OBJECTIVES: To provide an efficient & friendly service for all guests & visitors, maximising occupancy & room rates. The upkeep & presentation of accounts, records & correspondence.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To take private & corporate reservations in conjunction with the Reservations Manager, and Head of Sales and Marketing
- To ensure guests requirements & special needs are met.
- To greet & welcome guests & visitors immediately using eye contact.
- Deal with guest check in & check out.
- To offer assistance with luggage, dining arrangements, wake up calls and newspapers.
- To prepare guest & function accounts correctly & fully.
- To present accounts & deal with any queries prior to accepting payment.
- Accept departmental cash takings & compile banking.
- To produce relevant data for housekeeping & continually liaise with them.
- To ensure messages are taken & passed onto the correct recipient.
- To action any requests presented to you.
- To operate the switchboard.
- To ensure all calls are answered as quickly as possible, in an efficient & polite manner.
- To ensure all external calls are answered by ‘good morning/ afternoon/ good evening how may I help you’.
- To ensure all guest comments are recorded & passed to the Person in Charge (DM).
- To read & action all memos received within the department.
- To understand & have a working knowledge of fax, printers etc.
- To give & receive proper shift handovers.
- To observe all Health & Safety & fire regulations.
- Attend any training sessions as requested.
