We are looking for a Cleaner / Handy Person.
Spicers is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of black, green & speciality tea and fruit & herbal infusions. The company has 2 sites, Head Office in Ferndown, Dorset and a large manufacturing plant in Newcastle to support its blending expertise with the facilities to produce high volume bespoke tea blends. Spicers is now the chosen tea supplier of some of the largest UK supermarkets at the same time offering a broad portfolio of well-known branded teas.

We are looking to recruit a Cleaner / Handy Person for the Newcastle plant. Hours of work are Early Shift Monday to Friday 0630 to 1430, Late Shift Monday to Thursday 1430 to 2300 and Friday 1430 to 2030 (Finish at 2010 with reduced break) rotating weekly.

**Rate of pay is £11.96 per hour**

**Summary**:
A working member of the Production team, responsible for ensuring that the factory and perimeter areas are kept clean and hygienic and free from debris. **You will also be expected to help out with general maintenance.**

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:
1. Open up the factory, locking up and setting alarms as required

2. Maintain and improve the safety, legality and quality of products manufactured in accordance with food safety and quality policy.

3. Keep the daily Cleaning Checklist up to date

4. Keep the factory and perimeter areas clean and tidy inline with the Factory Cleaning Checklist

5. Ensure that the cardboard and paper baler is emptied regularly and inline with H&S guidelines.

6. Keep the smoking area, compressor area clean and tidy and free from debris

7. Maintenance tasks around the factory and offices

8. Any other duties as directed by your Line Manager

3. Good communication skills with all levels and all areas within the business
