**Purpose**

The role of Shift Leader applies to Rigid Plastics and Food Service operations where appropriate.

The job holder will assist/support the Site Manager and BEXE Improvement Technicians in the management of their shift team including control, planning, organising and motivating ensuring that all tasks are carried out safely and effectively meeting all procedural and quality requirements. The job holder is expected to be a role model at all times displaying the "can do, will do, happy to do" philosophy for team members to follow. The post holder may also be required to cover the role of the Continuous Improvement Technician.

**Main Areas Of Responsibility**
- Manage HSHE issues for the site during the shift ensuring a Zero Accident mentality
- Production to plan (quality, cost, delivery).
- Process appropriate transactions within local IT systems
- Manage shift handovers
- Contribute towards development of good communications and team spirit.
- Obtain and develop commitment from team members
- Achieve business and departmental objectives by best use of resources hour by hour
- Asset care
- Identification of all forms of waste reduction
- Driving resolution of actions
- Disciplinary, resource and incident management
- Attend and present Tier 1 - 2 and 3 if required
- Liaison with support functions e.g. planning, engineering
- Co-ordination of training

**Key Performance Indicators**
- PASA’s and 30 second risk assessments completed in a timely manner
- Quality failures within budgeted levels
- Yield levels within agreed levels
- OEE and Outputs to planned volumes
- OTIF maintained at budgeted levels
- Skill level metric for shift team at agreed level

- NEBSM/ILM allied to management skills training
- TPM Experience
- Lean Sigma training
- People management skills
- Technical/Operational understanding
- Engineering aptitude
- Disciplinary awareness skills
- HSHE awareness skills e.g. IOSH managing/working safely, First aid, fire
- Problem solving techniques - RCA
- Ability to train, coach and mentor others
- IT literature with experience of MS Office

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
