We are currently recruiting for a Pipeline Specialist to join our Offsites Team in Grangemouth, on a permanent basis.

**Purpose of the role**:
The role of the Pipeline Specialist is to ensure the integrity and availability of the cross country pipelines through the safe execution of day to day maintenance routines & integrity works and wayleave works on the pipeline network.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- To ensure that the integrity, care & maintenance of the oil pipelines is carried out in accordance with; the Pipelines Safety Regulations (PSR 96) legislation and Written Scheme of Examination for the pipeline and associated equipment.
- Develop and deliver Maintenance & Inspection Strategies for all cross country pipelines to ensure the integrity, care and maintenance of the pipelines meets the written scheme of examination, including the planning and coordination of the In Line Inspection (ILI) of the pipelines in accordance with the written scheme of examination
- Ensure that the pipelines are fully endorsed and that Integrity repairs are completed in line with Inspection Requirements.
- Carry out the activities to satisfy the HSE inputs and performance contract for the pipeline team and provide HSE leadership for the contractor teams in the provision of the care and maintenance of the pipelines
- Develop and deliver work packs, task based risk assessments, method statements, contractors briefing and act as permit issuing authority to ensure that all works on the pipeline network are executed in a safe manner.
- Review, co-ordinate, and control all the external parties Land Use Planning issues that arise along the cross country pipeline route and ensure that 3rd party developments are controlled safely with respect to impact on the pipelines.
- Meet with 3rd party developers, agree their scope of work along with pipeline conditions & restrictions and supervise these parties in the execution of the work within the pipeline zone of interest.
- Plan and supervise the embedded resources carrying out the monthly; plan and execute the 6M and 12M block valve station care and maintenance routines in accordance with the pipelines team procedures and practices.
- Plan, organise contractors and supervise embedded resources in the execution of the Wayleave Management routines in accordance with the pipelines team procedures and practices.
- Update the maintenance management system with the results from these routines and organise any remedial or improvements works.
- Plan, organise and deliver the wayleave and engineering maintenance works that arise day to day on the pipelines due to the output from the routines that are reported from landowners and 3rd parties or generated from the control room. Ensure the work is carried out in a safe manner and that the GIS system is updated with correct information.
- Support and supervise the pipelines team embedded resource team and other site contractors ensuring that their time sheets and costs are aligned on a monthly basis.
- Prepare, develop and deliver minor modification designs within the pipeline asset, ensuring all modifications follow the site modifications process.
- Plan, coordinate and negotiate with landowners and 3rd parties on work scope and compensation claims in the provision of technical and operational support for project teams undertaking capital or exceptional maintenance works on behalf of the pipelines team.
- Participate in infringement workshops and support the team in delivering improvement activities to help reduce pipeline infringements and investigate and implement remedial actions associated with pipeline infringements.
- Participate in the development and deliver pipeline awareness presentations to 3rd parties, street-works coordinators, utility companies and their sub-contractors.
- Co-ordinate the Emergency Response (ER) Preparedness under the PSR 96 legislation for the Pipeline network and that the Oil Spill response planning and co-ordination is in place. Includes ER; plans, training, equipment and emergency exercises.
- Provide out of hours emergency response (PERO) oil spill and care & maintenance support via the team on call roster.

**Education/Experience**:
**Desirable**
- Maintenance or process technical trade background and have an HND in chosen trade
- High level knowledge and understanding of the technical aspects of pipeline maintenance and wayleave management
- Good working knowledge of Emergency Response and Oil Spill response issues and ability to take responsibility in an emerge
