Head of Benchmark Administration

The Head of Benchmark Administration and Governance is a senior leadership position within FTSE Russell responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of Benchmark Administration and Governance for the business and ensuring compliance with UK Benchmark Regulation and IOSCO Principles for Financial Benchmarks.
The Head of Benchmark Administration and Governance plays a critical role in driving FTSE Russell’s strategy and ensuring the regulatory compliance, integrity, accuracy, and operational robustness of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for ensuring the business operates in accordance with, and in compliance of UK benchmark regulation and IOSCO Principles for Financial Benchmarks
- Develop and implement a governance framework for the administration and governance function, aligning with regulatory requirements, internal and external policies and industry best practices.
- Lead and manage the teams responsible for regulatory compliance, governance and risk, controls and assurance, operational oversight (including incident management) and data governance. Work closely with LSEG risk, compliance and legal teams to develop and provide best in class governance and oversight.
- Work closely with LSEG second line risk to embed the enterprise risk management framework (ERMF) into the business, owning the risk profile of FTSE Russell.
- Develop KPIs to monitor and drive improvement in operational resilience and regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including clients, regulators, index users and industry associations. Represent the organisations administration and governance function.
- Key partner for Audit. Work with stakeholders to address gaps found. Conduct regular reviews and audits of processes to assess compliance and effectiveness of the benchmark governance framework.
- Drive risk culture through the organisation to further support the enhancement of the risk and control environment.
- Drives adherence and support to LSEG Group policies.
Experience
- Proven experience in benchmark administration and governance with strong understanding of index methodologies and the associated regulation, such as IOSCO Principles and UK Benchmark Regulation.
- Experience in embedding risk and control frameworks in large organisations.
- Significant leadership and managerial experience with the ability to create and lead a high performing team that is globally distributed and resilient.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility, expertise and gravitas to influence at the senior management level.
- In depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Benchmark Administration.
- Sound judgement with experience of balancing competing factors to deliver optimal outcomes.
- Experience and good relationships with regulators in multiple jurisdictions.
