Our client, a Portsmouth based, family operated building and decorating contractor, is looking for a skilled Carpenter to join their team.

**Skilled Carpenter/Multi Trader
Portsmouth Based**

**£21.00 - £22.50 per hour**

**Full Time, Permanent
Must Have Own Tools and Van**

This building contractor operates within Hampshire for local authorities (Portsmouth, Fareham, Gosport, Eastleigh), Hampshire, Chartered surveyor’s and private clients on a variety of projects, generally remaining local to Portsmouth.

They have a variety of clients/ works, from school projects, social housing, university works, colleges, office refurbishments, empty residential property packages, to occupied social housing day repairs, kitchen installations, external fabric repairs etcwith a full range of skills required_. _

Due to continued expansion, they are looking for a skilled Carpenter/Multi Trader to join their team.

**About the Carpenter Role**:
The purpose of the role is to cover all aspects of carpentry and there will be both external and internal works. The client is looking for someone who takes pride in their work and strives to uphold the high standards that they have built their trusted reputationaround.

To be considered for the role you must have the flexibility to work as a Carpenter/Multi Trader and switch to a SMSTS Foreman as required.

**Working Hours**:
You will be expected to be on site to start work for 7.30am and finish at 4.30pm, with two 30 minute breaks during the day.

**About You**

You must be experienced in all expects 1st and 2nd fix carpentry with good finish standards.

You will be working closely with the Contracts Manager to achieve specified targets.

You must have your own tools and van.

**The ideal Carpenter will be**:

- SMSTS trained (& current CRB checked preferred)
- First Aid trained (3 day Preferred).
- Experienced of working within the social housing & school environment
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to motivate to others to drive projects forward.
- Able to work independently or with others to deliver projects as a team.
- Organised with good time keeping skills
- Good levels of Health & Safety awareness
- Polite and courteous with all clients, including residents within occupied properties, when representing the company
- Able to maintain a clean and tidy site

You must be eligible to work in the UK.
