Head of Estate

Location : Uphill, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset

Hours : 37.5 hours per week

Salary : £42,000 - £47,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Are you an effective communicator and skilled negotiator, possessing strong leadership skills and eye for detail, with extensive experience in all aspects of estate and facilities management, with a demonstrable track record?

This is a multi-varied role reporting directly to the Chief Executive and is key to ensuring the effective delivery and provision of our vital services for local people. For example, you will manage:

- our portfolio of premises which includes the main Hospice building, 16 shops and a retail superstore, donation centre and warehouse
- repairs and maintenance internally and externally, both proactively via a PPM and reactively, using a cost-effective blend of outside contractors and internal resources, at all those sites
- compliance with health, safety, environmental and security requirements, including fire regulations and building regulations
- procurement and ongoing management of contracts/agreements, contractors, utilities and services
- certain support services functions including maintenance, catering, housekeeping, gardening and reception
