**Lead Actuary**

**Responsibilities**
- Direct management of at least 3 analysts (located in Bristol, UK and Bermuda), whilst also providing training and actuarial knowledge share to a broader technical team (Bristol, UK)
- Oversee the end-to-end deal deal modeling and analysis process: from broker submission to post-bind reporting while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of work product
- Oversee the monthly portfolio(s) roll-up production across the team, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
- Explain modeling results to various stakeholders including UWs, Portfolio Manager, external parties, etc.
- Lead the development and maintenance of Envelop’s Cyber Insurance Industry Exposure Database with an extreme focus on data collection, data quality, and data integrity
- Oversee various actuarial workflows including Envelop's internal reserving process
- Lead or assist in special data/ modeling projects
- Assist portfolio manager in modeling technically complex and bespoke products including ILWs, cat bonds
- Assist portfolio manager in budgeting, portfolio optimisation, and hedging exercises
- Plan for future model changes, liaise with CyberTooth 2.0 and coordinate model reruns, anticipating likely impact on modeled values
- Oversee the production of external reports to various stakeholders including, but not limited to fronting partners, retro partners, investors, Lloyds, BMA, AM Best
- Assist product manager by providing technical requirements to support continued analytics build out

**Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience**:

- Qualified (non-life) actuary with minimum 5 years of reinsurance experience in an actuarial function(s) (pricing, reserving, capital modeling, etc.)
- Technical undergraduate degree, preferably in mathematics, engineering, statistics, or actuarial science required
- Strong Python and SQL knowledge
- Ability to manage, train and reinforce standards with analysts (with no reinsurance and no actuarial knowledge) situated in Bristol, UK and Bermuda
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Ability to consistently deliver exceptional results on very demanding timelines
- Great organizational skills with excellent follow-through and attention to detail
