Relief Dispenser

Job summary

The Ridings Medical Group is looking to recruit an experienced Relief Dispenser to work with our existing dispensing team to provide high-quality service to patients.

This is a relief position so hours will be worked as and when required to cover holidays and sickness.

The hourly rate for this position will start at £13.38 with annual increments up to £13.68.

Main duties of the job

Dispensing NHS prescriptions for dispensing patients and temporary residents, as well as private prescriptions to all patients registered at the Practice, as required by the Partners. Handling cash and checking exemption certificates in relation to this and advising patients on the use/compliance of drugs as necessary.

Adding to and/or amending patients SystmOne medication record, as advised by the doctors e.g., discharge and hospital letters.

Maintaining adequate stock levels of drugs within the dispensary, ordering as required (paying attention to costing) and checking all invoices against stock received. Rotating stock to ensure short-dated lines are used first. Date checking stock every three months.

Processing MDS blister packs for those patients in need.

Maintaining up to date records of Controlled Drugs. Carrying out a weekly CD stock balance check.

Ensuring prescriptions are endorsed correctly, overleaf completed by patient, counted, recorded and filed ready to be sent to the PPA for reimbursement at the end of each month.
