What you'll be doing:We are looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor to bring technical excellence to the conservation and maintenance of property in Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire. You’ll focus on supporting property teams, delivering reactive and planned maintenance works. You will have the opportunity to be involved and lead on a range of Projects including growth and development works, conservation works, energy use reduction and visitor infrastructure. Working with other internal and external consultant specialists, ranging from Curators to Conservators, Visitor Experience consultants and Planning Advisors, and be line managed by the Senior Building Surveyor.
- A relevant professional qualification e.g. Chartered Surveyor MRICS, MCIOB.
- A passion for building surveying within a heritage and conservation organisation.
- A high level of experience in construction project delivery in commercial / public facing sector.
- Excellent knowledge of construction contract management and experience in using the various JCT contracts.
- Experience drafting schedules of works and specifications on a range of different building types, and compiling tender and contract information.
- Excellent communication skills, able to build effective relationships within multidisciplinary teams, as well as with contractors and internal/external stakeholders.
- The ability to work and effectively manage your time to organise your work across a busy and complex portfolio
