**The Role

We are looking for a talented commercial driven Chief Accountantto join our team. As Chief Accountantyour responsibilities will include all aspects of finance operations within the Company.

**Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of Chief Accountant include, but are not limited to:

- Carry out bookkeeping (currently - Xero, soon to go-live - Oracle Netsuite).
- Deal effectively with client queries arising.
- Work effectively with outsourced accounting team.
- Maintaining accounting books and ledgers.
- Processing sales invoices, receipts and payments.
- Executing all financial closing process controls.
- Liaising and dealing with HMRC/Companies House.
- Control account reconciliations.
- Posting payroll transactions.
- Undertake KYC and Due Diligence checks on all customers.
- Prepare and submit regulatory notices.
- Assist with cash-flow projections.
- Ensuring sales invoices are paid in a timely manner.
- Ensuring all invoices are correctly entered onto system.
- Ensuring all invoices received from supplier and for Services are correct.
- Processing starters and leavers set up new employees on the payroll and process final pay for leavers.
- Engage with Financing Institutions with regards L/C arrangement, Currency Hedging, Invoice Financing and Insurance.
- To comply with CARES scheme for the purchasing, supplying and processing of steel reinforcement of concrete.

**The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Chief Accountant are:

- Academic education, qualification, training & CPD.
- Minimum part-qualified AAT (association of Accounting Technicians) or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in related field.
- Must have experience of bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns preferably gained within a professional office environment.
- Proven skills in producing accounts to trial balance and unincorporated accounts plus Tax would be beneficial.
- Should be ICT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.
