Cygnets Art School South Solihull are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistant to assist in our classes
**Please read all the information** below before applying, as this is a part-time, freelance position, and may not be suitable for everyone.

Cygnets is a fine art school franchise for children, based in the UK. We teach traditional drawing, painting and sculpture, combined with unique projects, experienced teachers, and professional quality materials. Classes are run for ages 5-13 after school and weekends during term time, as well as every half term and school holiday.

Teaching assistants will be briefed about projects before each session, this may include access to a step-by-step video that shows a clear breakdown of the lesson. This role would suit a creative individual with a passion for Art and helping children develop their creativity. It may appeal to an artistic individual that works within a school already or an Art student. This vacancy is ideally suited to an applicant that lives in Solihull - due to the limited hours per session.

Applicants **MUST** have good levels of drawing skills. An Art qualification such as a GCSE/A Level or a portfolio of work to evidence skill will be required.

**Applicants aged 18 yrs and over only.**

**Term Time Hours**:
Starting ASAP - July 2024:
Mondays 3:15-4.30pm, Tuesdays 3:15-4.30pm, Wednesdays 3.45-5.00pm Thursdays 4:15-5.30pm & Saturdays 9.45am-1pm

Then ongoing each term (10 weeks/term | 3 terms/ year)

**Holiday Hours**:
Starting May Half Term 2024

Then ongoing each half term (3 x weeks per year); Easter Holiday (2 x weeks per year), and summer holiday (5 x weeks per year).

**Pay**:
£11.50

Please note there is potential for additional hours and income as the business grows.

**Necessary Requirements**:

- Strong artistic skills and experience in using a variety of mediums.
- A passion for working with children, must have a positive and patience disposition.
- Excellent reliability, timekeeping and initiative to know when to assist.

**Ideal Additional Requirements**
- Experience in working with children - a current DBS and Level 1 Safeguarding training.
- A knowledge of the local area and connection to local schools.

Level 1 Safeguarding training (at the cost of the employer).

**Job Types**: Part-time, Freelance

**Salary**: £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 - 8 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
