**About The Role**:
**Introduction and overall purpose of the role**

To work as a part of the operational OCS Team. As the Supervisor will be required to exercise initiative and judgement to ensure the provision of an efficient, effective and a quality ‘front of house’ service that is supportive to the wards/departments and outer areas. The post holder will be courteous and caring to patients, visitors, all service users and Hospital Staff.

You will be required to co-ordinate and monitor all Portering activities to ensure the required standard of service is achieved and maintained. You will also work with the client proactively, ensuring their expectations are exceeded, and effectively communicate all client needs.

**Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role**
- Ensuring rosters are produce and shifts are covered inline with the daily budgeted hours required
- Ensure staff are wearing the corporate uniform at all times including PPE where required
- Daily management of the Timegate attendance system for the porters
- Daily monitoring the portering system to ensure all jobs/ and scheduled tasks are responded to on time, inline with the KPI’s / SLA for the contract
- Analyse the helpdesk daily activity reports and work with the helpdesk where issues are identified to resolve them
- Production of the weekly/monthly report for the department, helpdesk data, Compliments and Complaints etc
- Ensure regular, ongoing and effective statutory and company training for all staff to maximise their full potential relevant to the role and their duties
- Liaise with all staff to ensure effective and meaningful communication.
- Hold monthly and effective staff meetings.
- Ensure the OCS Health & Safety policy is adhered to and that all subordinates are aware of the policy and their responsibility for its implementation
- Ensure compliance with OCS and Trust policies.
- Supporting with HR issues where Investigations / note taking is required, supporting other service streams
- To have a flexible approach to work additional hours when required and cover shifts where required due to absence
- **Educational Level**
- Essential - GCSE Math and English **Professional Qualifications required for the job-(particularly for compliance purposes or technical requirements of the role)**

Essential
- Good standard of education in English and Maths
- IT proficiency
- NVQ 2 or equivalent.
- IOSH Supervising Safely Safety or prepared to study for within 3 months.
- ILM 2 Supervisory Studies or prepared to study for within 3 months **Experience -previous experience -desirable/essential for technical competence of the role**

- Experience of supervising a facilities team
- Recent and relevant team management and development experience
- Strong ability to build professional partnerships and communicate effectively
- Ability to analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions/approaches

- Relevant experience in Portering or other services
- Experience of Supervising a team in a healthcare establishment
- Experience of and a track record in successfully managing labour
- Knowledge of healthcare sector
