Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Civils Site Supervisor who has experience undertaking the role of Temporary Works Coordinator. This is a contract position for 8 - 10 weeks working onsite in Barrow in Furnace, supporting an ongoing project with our client. The project includes the civil construction activities for the road remediation works and the prevention of further erosion of the foreshore local to existing pipeline landfall on the West coast of Walney Island.

**The position will include, but not limited to;**
- Ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare or all personnel on site (direct reports and sub-contractors)
- Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, scope of work documents and construction work packs
- Ensuring all construction work is executed in accordance with the approved drawings, specifications, scope of work documents and work packs
- Undertake the role of Temporary Works Coordinator, ensuring compliance with Wood’s Temporary Work’s procedure
- Preparing and maintaining Temporary Works Registers, preparing Temporary Works Design Briefs, reviewing temporary works designs, ensuring design and check certificates are provided, inspection of temporary works, preparing and issuing Permits to Load / Unload
- Coordination of Temporary Works Supervisors
- Input to construction schedules and ensuring construction work is executed in accordance with the agreed schedule
- Identify opportunities to improve the agreed schedule and early identification of any risk to the schedule
- Ensure materials and plant / equipment are on site in readiness of construction activities commencing
- Supervision of sub-contractors and monitoring quality aspects of their work, HSE performance and compliance with agreed schedule
- Conducting QA / QC inspections of civils works including earthworks, rock armour, concrete, formwork, reinforcement, grouting, anchor bolts, structural steelwork, paving, etc
- Completion of Inspection and Test Plans / site records
- Prepare Technical Queries / liaise with engineering teams
- Measurement of quantities used in construction works as per the agreed method of measurement
- Ensure lifting operations are undertaken in accordance with the approved lift plans and in accordance with LOLER regulations
- Preparation of RAMS and reviewing sub-contractor RAMS
- Undertake Site Inductions
- Undertake toolbox talks / safety briefings with construction personnel, including sub-contractors
- Attend morning calls and regular progress meetings with the Project Manager / Client
- Review and input to CDM Construction Phase Plan
- Red line mark ups of construction drawings for as-building purposes
- Input to CDM Health and Safety Files as projects progress through to completion
- Compliance with Environment Management Plans and ensuring sub-contractors are compliant
- Ensure construction personnel are adhering to Safe Systems of Work
- Preparing punch lists and ensuring all punch list items are closed out in a timely manner
- Maintain a detailed Daily Diary recording all matters pertaining to the project, including instructions given to Sub-Contractors, records of discussions with sub-contractors / client representatives / third parties, weather conditions, work undertaken that day, manning levels, equipment used / not used, delays, problems identified, safety issues etc

Skills / Qualifications:
**Skills / Experience**

**Essential**:

- Previous experience as a Civils Site Supervisor working in onshore oil and gas terminals
- Experience working with earthworks / excavations / reinforced concrete / steelwork / foundations
- Demonstrable prior experience in the role of Temporary Works Coordinator
- Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and CDM Regulations 2015

**Desirable**:

- Experience of coastal protection works

**Qualifications**

**Essential**:

- CITB SMSTS
- CITB Temporary Works Coordinator Training Course
- CSCS Card
- Valid UK driving license
- Qualified First Aider

**Desirable**:

- Batchelors degree in Civil Engineering
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer
