**Engagement Keyworker (Children and Young People's Service, East Sussex)**

**Location**:East Sussex / Brighton

**Hours of Work**:35.5 hours per week

**Salary**: £11.19 per hour

**About the Role**:
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver a new short breaks provision and join an ever-expanding staff team within Aspens. This is a new role working across both our children’s and specialist support services to provide a positive behaviour support (PBS) model to engage young people (18 - 25) who have complex needs, which inhibit them from accessing school or college, resulting in increased isolation and withdrawal from community and group-based activities.

Engagement Keyworkers will be required work in a variety of settings to develop, plan and participate in programmes of work with parents/carers, adults, young people and children. This may include work in educational, community or residential setting.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To liaise and support a range of programmes led by CAMHS or Apens specialist support team to improve challenges associated with neurological diagnoses - including behaviour, obsessions, social skills, communication skills, isolation/ withdrawal
- Independently develop resources and tools to support delivery of these programmes
- To implement a PBS model of support to engage the young person and empower the parents/carer, providing sessional reports and monitoring of how strategies / support is working for the family

**About You**:
You will be experienced in supporting young people (aged 18 to 25 years old) with Autism Spectrum Conditions. It would also be desirable if you have attained your Diploma Level 3 (NVQ) in Social Care, training and knowledge of PBS and the PBS Framework and have firsthand experience with Mental Health First Aid.

The role involves travel in the local area and so it is essential that you hold a full, clean driving licence, have access to your own vehicle with business insurance and are happy to travel as part of your role.
