TeamJobs are delighted to be working with a long established and much revered company who are currently recruiting for a **Quality Assurance Technologist**to join their team. Do you have experience working in a factory, **food production/food manufacturing** business whereby Health and Safety is paramount and quality assurance meets a third-parties expectations, to an extremely high level? This could be the role for you

**The ideal person**:

- You must already be a resident in the UK**
- Food industry background, whether food manufacturing and packaging with a thorough knowledge of food hygiene
- Background could be from a similar role or someone who has worked in food production whilst assisting the QA and ready to take the next step, or a graduate with food manufacturing and production knowledge or even someone from a horticultural background
- it’s more about the individual
- Used to working in an ambient/chilled environment - temperature does not drop below 8 degrees so do not be put off. (Correct clothing is provided).
- Common sense, articulate with great attention to detail in all aspects of your work
- Excellent written and verbal English and must be used to writing reports based on findings etc.
- Team player with a great sense of humour and willing to adapt to business needs
- Happy to join any training and development programme

**What we need from you**:

- Present a positive image of the company and its values in a professional manner, paying attention to Health and Safety.
- Monitor the standards within the site and ensure compliance to food safety, legal and customer requirements is to top quality.
- Encourage a positive Food Safety Culture through consistent communication and reinforcement of good practice when identified.
- Assess product quality and adherence to specifications throughout process (goods, intake, storage, grading and weighing, packing, and picking). Report findings and drive quality improvements.
- Check, maintain, review, and collect process control documents.
- Support continuous improvement by investigating internal audit findings, customer complaints to root cause and driving actions.
- Support product benchmarking and shelf-life test finished products.
- Delivering specific internal training.
- Assist with management of outsourced services for example cleaning, pest control and lab testing.
- Support HACCP/TACCP Teams and QMS review as requested
- Ensure all raw materials are inspected on intake and any deviations from spec are reported to growers and an acceptable product is released within 4 hours.

This is a FULLY SITE BASED role and the working patterns are as follows:

- 6am - 2:30pm either Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday dependent on business needs.
