We are looking for Joiner’s to join our Homes and Places Housing Maintenance Team to carry out maintenance, repair, and major improvement works within the Council’s tenanted and empty properties whilst practicing safe working practices.

**Our Service**

The Homes and Places Housing Maintenance team are responsible for ensuring the Councils social housing portfolio of circa 8,500 dwellings is maintained to meet all current statutory, regulatory, and legislative standards.

**The role**

As our Joiner, you will carry out essential maintenance and improvement work, within agreed timescales, at our properties. You will work with a highly motivated and friendly team of like-minded tradespersons who are all committed to working together to maintain our housing stock to a good standard. You will be provided with a business van and equipment to enable you to complete your tasks.

We offer flexibility within our normal working pattern of Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5 pm.

**At Joiner Single Trade level you will**:

- Carry out domestic Joinery repairs
- Record and monitor supplied equipment as necessary
- Work to expected health and safety standards and safe systems of work
- Undertake professional, mandatory and skills-based training.

**What you will bring**

You will have relevant qualifications and experience in a specialist trade relating to domestic joinery operations. You will have experience working in a domestic setting and be familiar with materials, tools and machinery used in the repair, maintenance or construction of homes. You will have an understanding of health and safety and be able to provide an out of hours emergency service on a rota basis.
