Equine Racing Groom Apprentice

Exciting Opportunity for Apprentice Flat Jockey to live and work in a successful Flat Racing Yard in Upper Lambourn. There will be regular amazing opportunities for the apprentice to travel horses to race meetings where overtime is paid at time and one half.New apprenticeship position for a horse lover to join a friendly team at a well established race yard in Berkshire. This role covers all aspects of race horse care. The successful apprentice will be paid and also complete their level 2 equine apprenticeship qualification.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual looking to develop their skills in horse care. You will work alongside our current team handling and caring for all our horses. This position is fast paced and perfect for anyone looking to get into the horse racing industry.

Good basic wages are offered as well as pool money - hours and shifts TBC at interview.

Duties include:

- Mucking out
- Yard duties
- Turning out
- Tacking up
- Assisting at competitions/races.
- Feeding
- Exercising horses
- Yard management
- Field Management

**Training**
- Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
- The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship
- The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.

**Job Type**: Apprenticeship

Pay: From £6.40 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
