**Salary**: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + Company Benefits

Main accountabilities
To participate in the delivery of Minor Works/new installation works, where required, to include specifications, pricing, materials, and obtaining quotations from approved sub-contractors, planning, commissioning, and signing off work
To communicate effectively with staff, peers, customers, patients, visitors, contractors, other stake holders and all levels of management within Serco.
To direct, plan and prioritise all activities and provide guidance to ensure maintenance work carried out by all of the Estates groups is effective and efficient, meeting defined standards in a cost-effective manner in line with service demands.
Have an understanding of a wide range of Regulations pertaining to the delivery of estates services and be able to interpret Statutory, Mandatory and Regulatory documentation, advice and implement procedures to ensure compliance.
Mechanical lead Supervisor on fault finding, repairing and resolution to complex faults on all types of plant & equipment. Carrying out high level maintenance, repair, commissioning, or calibration.
To work as part of the Managers On-Call System covering high priority work outside of normal working hours. Effectively manage the team through using the full range of Serco’s People Policies and Procedures, including Recruitment and Selection, Performance Development Review, Absence Management, Discipline and Grievance Day to day supervision of sub-contractors including issuing Permits to Work to, and monitoring the work of sub-contractors, providing feedback where required.
Responsible for own and others health and safety and for working in a safe and responsible manner with full regard for your own and other’s safety at all times.
Undertake any other reasonable request within the overall scope of the job role and service required. Support the Mechanical Engineering Manager in the performance of their duties and ensure continuity of services out of hours.

What you’ll need to do the role

Completion of a recognised appropriate mechanical apprenticeship or other relevant/recognised structured training programme - Appropriate City & Guilds and or BTEC certification. Management qualification or certificated management courses. Knowledge and understanding of Building Services Strong People management, communication and inter-personal skills.
Practical and theoretical knowledge of mechanical systems
Knowledge and implementation of systems and procedures for ensuring safe systems of work for employees and contractors.
Practical understanding of statutory and non-statutory compliance requirements within a health or related environment.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Knowledge and understanding of CAFM & BMS systems. Knowledge of Authorised Person (AP) responsibilities Hold a Competent Person or Responsible Person qualification.
Must have strong IT skills ensuring the ability to input, analyse and produce information from IT software systems relating to the estates service delivery and function.
Proven mechanical experience and working in a similar environment.
Management of a skilled team of technical staff.
Experience of managing people including performance management cycle, recruitment, reward, and recognition, managing absence, conducting 1-2-1’s, PDR’s and disciplinary management.
Working effectively with Microsoft software packages, CAFM systems and other systems used to manage the estates and property function..
Managing estates statutory service-related requirements and issues.
Demonstrate client facing experience.
Must have a sound mechanical/electrical/building aptitude with the ability to concentrate on tasks and think clearly under pressure.
