Senior Botanical Propagator

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced propagator to join a team of horticulturists at Britain’s oldest botanic garden. The post holder will oversee the propagation of plants in alignment with the strategic priorities of the department’s Collections Strategy, and at the new propagation unit under development at the Botanic Garden’s sister site, Harcourt Arboretum.

The post holder will contribute to the planning and development of the work of the collection, working closely with the Curator and Head of Horticulture to maintain and improve the collection, achieving high horticultural standards. The post holder will oversee all aspects of propagation at the Botanic Garden and participate in the day-to-day cultivation of the collection. The post holder’s enthusiasm for contributing to the planning and development of the work of the team is key.

In addition to the horticultural duties, the post holder will contribute to some of the Garden’s educational activities. These responsibilities include the training and supervision of trainees and volunteers.
