HancoxRead Recruitment have a vacancy for the position of Senior Care & Housing Support Officer working in Rowley Regis

Job Summary:

- To promote a service that meets the needs of those people who use our service.
- To enable people who use our service to access services appropriate to their needs whilst maximising independence.
- To assist in the delivery of a flexible and supportive care and housing support service by; Providing support to front line care staff through on the job observational supervision.
- Providing management cover in the absence of the Extra Care Manager/Team Support Manager where required.
- Working as part of a team to provide a quality care and housing support service in line with CQC essential standards of quality and safety to individuals living independently within their own home within an Extra Care facility.
- Contribute to the provision of housing management and tenancy support tasks pertaining

Skills and Abilities:

- Empower individuals who use the services to be as independent as possible and maximise their potential.
- Contribute to the protection and safeguarding by contributing to minimising the level of abuse in care environments. Minimise the effects of abusive behaviour. Contribute to monitoring individuals who are at risk from abuse. To report any concern or suspicionor allegation of neglect or harm.
- To maintain accurate records in accordance with the service standards.

Duties of a Senior Care and Housing support officer will include: Providing management cover for the services in the absence of the Extra Care Manager or Team Support Manager
- Supporting individuals with meaningful activities that promote positive outcomes for people participating. Supporting individuals with the development of person-centred Care and Support plans.
- Supporting with appraisals and reviewing person centred Care and Support plans.
- Supporting Care Staff to deliver a quality care service and maintain good practices that meets the needs of People who use our services.
- Supporting individuals with housing related issues, reporting of repairs.
- Supporting Individuals with health-related issues including the ordering, checking and administration of prescribed medication. Working alongside relevant key agencies.
- Supporting individuals in an emergency situation.
- Working as part of a Team.
- Providing housing related issues including all tenancy support tasks required to support tenants with all housing support related issues to enable individuals to maintain their tenancy.
- You will require:

- NVQ level 2 in care or equivalent Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with adults with a disability or older people/older people with mental health needs. Can verbally communicate effectively. Need to be flexible and able to work weekends and Bank Holidaysas required. An awareness of essential standards of quality and safety set by Care Quality Commission.
- An Enhanced DBS Barring Adults check is required for this role. Please note that this is a part-time post at 30 hours per week.
