The role is to work as part of a team preparing monthly management accounts in a timely and accurate manner. Support the BU Finance Managers to ensure accounting is robust. Balance sheet accounts are reviewed regularly and any issues resolved promptly. Ensuregood audit trail and support Financial Reporting team during audit. Support Transactional Team in delivering accurate postings first time, every time.
**Key Deliverables**:

- Prepare and post journals as part of month end procedures
- Close liaison with Business Unit Finance Team
- Fixed asset reconciliations and postings
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure reconciling items are resolved
- Maintain monthly schedules in readiness for audit
- Support the financial reporting team during audit work
- Coach and mentor the transactional team to ensure accuracy of postings
- Preparation of the monthly VAT returns
- Assisting with tax compliance
- Assist in meeting management account deadlines of working day 9
- Support Group Finance Manager to improve processes around month end and align tasks to appropriate members of the wider finance team

**Qualifications/Skills/Experience**
**Required**:

- Qualified accountant
- VAT Knowledge
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to see things through to conclusion, ensuring reconciling items are resolved promptly
- Excellent team player, able to manage both upwards and downwards
- Share knowledge and experience to build knowledge transfer throughout department
