**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**JOB TITLE**: Maintenance Trainee

**REPORTING TO**: Health and Safety Manager

**SALARY**: Based on Experience

**JOB PURPOSE**: To assist the Maintenance team in servicing, maintaining and cleaning equipment. As Maintenance Trainee your duties will range from assisting with Mechanical and Electrical issues that must be resolved in an efficient and effective manner to prevent any delay to Production.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Service Delivery

1. Assist the Maintenance team with electrical installations;
2. Service machinery and forklifts and complete any necessary accompanying paperwork;
3. Maintenance of facilities;
4. Ensuring all equipment and facilities are kept to a high standard of cleanliness;
5. Notify senior members of the maintenance team of any repairs in a timely manner;
6. Safe and controlled movement of parts in the workshop and factory;
7. Ensure proper handling and storage of all tools;
8. Leave working areas in a fit state to ensure no unnecessary health and safety risks prevail. Work in a manner that ensures the safety of oneself and other colleagues.

General

3. Fulfil the legal Health and Safety duties placed on employees by:

- Ensuring that you use work items provided by the company correctly and in accordance with the training and instruction received, including personal protective equipment (PPE);
- Ensuring that you do not interfere with or misuse anything provided for health, safety, or welfare purposes.

4. Comply with all the company’s policies and procedures.

5. Maintain high standards of personal accountability.

6. Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION - MAINTENANCE TRAINEE**
- **Criteria Essential Desirable**_

**Qualifications, Good standard of education to include ** 1-2 years experience
**& Experience **English and Maths at GCSE level, Grade working in a
C or equivalent; Manufacturing/

Engineering environment
- Knowledge of Electrical engineering

**Skills and Strong and effective communication and**
Competencies **interpersonal skills;**
- Well-developed analytical, innovative and problem-solving abilities;
- Good organisational, planning and time management skills;
- Ability to use own initiative and work independently
- Ability to demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills
