Access for Students is an extremely friendly team of employees who are looking to welcome an employed SpLD assessor to their team for the first time. The fast growing company provides DSA Needs Assessments across Wales and the South of England and is now providing SpLD diagnostic assessments as part of their next stage of company growth. As an SpLD Assessor your main duties will include:

- Undertaking SpLD diagnostic assessments and screening assessments to customers of different ages who present with dyslexia or other neurodiverse condition such as dyscalculia, ADHD and DCD.
- Providing follow up calls with customers to discuss the results of their assessment and offer support
- Keeping up to date with industry guidance, such as SASC, to ensure to reports are undertaken in line with current guidelines
- Undertaking necessary training and professional development to maintain skills, knowledge, and competencies to carry out assessments to a high standard
- Liaising with the internal Quality Assurance team & management to ensure reports meet all internal standards and checks
- Achieving specific turnaround times for report writing and responses to customers to meet company KPIs
- The assessor may be required to provide 1-1 study skills tuition as part of the role
- There may be opportunities to undertake additional paid training via the company to assess for additional neurodiverse conditions if the assessor is only trained to assess for dyslexia; training to assess for different ages as well as Needs Assessment training.

Required skills/qualifications:

- A current Assessment Practicing Certificate
- Experience conducting specialist diagnostic assessments in line with SASC guidance and knowledge of examination adjustments in Higher Education
- Knowledge of JCQ regulations for examination access arrangements
- Confidence in conducting assessments via video call and in person
- Experience of 1-1 tuition
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely
- Excellent report writing skills
- Good IT skills and excellent knowledge of assistive software and equipment
- A strong customer service ethos
- Ability to self-motivate and work on own
