Job Summary:
The Spa at Ye Olde Bell is a multi-million-pound, luxury day spa which opened in June 2017 and sits alongside Ye Olde Bell Hotel, Barnby Moor, Retford.
We are currently recruiting for a **part-time** Spa Butler/Bartender to join our team, working on a shift basis, with 30 contracted hours available and the opportunity for the occasional additional hours.
The position is for 10-hour shifts, Monday to Sunday from 9am to 7pm, with occasional Friday evening working up to 11.30pm. (Weekend working is an essential requirement of the role)
Our Spa Butlers are the first point of contact for guests using the Spa, with the primary purpose to ensure all our guests receive exceptional service throughout their visit.
Spend your working day in beautiful surroundings as you help greet guests on arrival and show them around the facilities. Take pride in keeping the facilities clean and tidy whilst being on hand to take drink orders, answer guest queries and assist people wherever possible to ensure they have an incredible, flawless experience throughout their time in the spa.
For the days you are working on the Bar and Brasserie, you will be preparing and serving guests a range of drinks, from herbal teas, coffees and juices, to beers, wines, spirits, champagne and cocktails throughout the day. You will also be waiting tables over lunch service in the Herb Garden Brasserie.

**Responsibilities**:
**Spa Butler**:
- Assist guests on arrival taking them through to the changing areas, and touring guests around the spa facilities.
- Explain features and benefits of all thermal experience rooms to guests on arrival and during their stay.
- Assist all guests with problems and questions as required, ensuring all queries are resolved and followed up to ensure a positive outcome.
- Ensure all Spa areas are kept clean, tidy and well presented at all times, with particular focus on the Thermal area, changing rooms and outdoor spaces.
- Circulate through all front of house, thermal and outdoor areas maintaining a high profile at all times
- Proactively approach guests to offer assistance, taking drink orders and providing clean robes as and when required.
- Assist with Opening and closing the thermal area, and smooth operation of the vitality pool.
- Provide first aid and poolside emergency rescue cover. (Unless on a 0 hours contract)
- Assist and liaise with Bar and Brasserie staff as appropriate.
**Bar and Brasserie**:
- Provide refreshments to guests throughout their stay.
- Ensure the Bar, Brasserie and relaxation lounge are kept fully stocked, clean, today and well presented at all times.
- Be visible in the Bar/lounge and spa area at all times.
- Proactively approach guests to offer assistance, taking drink orders as and when required.
- Assist with Opening and closing the Bar.
- Assist Spa Butlers in their role within the spa.
- Ensure all shift checklists are completed correctly, ensuring a proper handover is given to the next shift.
- To serve food and drinks to the specified standard.
- To comply with all legislation with regard to the serving of intoxicating liquor as laid down in the liquor indemnity form.
- To ensure that all liquor is correctly charged to guest accounts where appropriate.
- To have excellent product knowledge.
**Both Roles**:
- Ensure exceptional guest experience throughout the spa at all times.
- Maintain full knowledge of all spa treatments, services and products.
- To ensure that the cleaning schedule is adhered to, to comply with legal requirements regarding hygiene.
- Ensure up to date knowledge about daily operations and events, as well as any changes to procedures.
- Follow SOPs for the company
- Ensure all shift checklists are completed correctly, ensuring a proper handover is given to the next shift.
- Encourage repeat business to the spa.
- To be aware of, understand and comply with all company and legal requirements with regard to fire, health and safety and to attend training as required.
- To work well with all other teams within the spa to ensure we consistently deliver exceptional service to our guests.
