To work under the direction of Principal to encourage and develop safe, purposeful and creative play during Breakfast and After school.
- Ensuring the conduct, welfare, safety, physical, sand mental well being of pupils and maintenance of good order and discipline.
- To contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school.
- To work as part of the breakfast and after school club.
- To work with the staff and others to develop play awareness and opportunities. Bishop Lonsdale successful team focused on 'Believe, Achieve and Inspire'.
- Engage children in purposeful play and social activities.
- Teach play skills and specific games and activities.
- Help and support children.
- Supervise and interact with pupils during breakfast and inside school during wet/adverse weather conditions.
- To supervise children on the school premises, hall, classroom etc and movement of pupils through corridors.
- Assist with the general welfare/hygiene of pupils, including the supervision of toileting, washing hands and assisting pupils who soil/dirty their clothes.
- Encourage good table manners and eating habits among pupils.
- Understanding the Healthy eating agenda in school and encourage healthy eating to pupils in their meal choices.
- To liaise with the Principal directly or specified teachers, or welfare when required with regard to the special or restricted dietary needs of pupils for medical and/or religion/cultural reason.
- To observe entrance to the school during breakfast and after school to ensure children do not leave the playground.
- Deal with minor incidents/sickness ensuring if requires seeking assistance form a nominated first aider and report any serious or emergencies.
- Participate in training, induction and development activities and programs.
- Maintain confidentiality in relation to pupil information.
- Comply with school policies and procedures, and report all concerns to an appropriate person, in respect of:
Child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, data protection, equality.
- Relevant Experience would be an advantage, experience of working with children for a minimum of 2 years.
- Good communication.
- Self motivated and enthusiastic.
- Patient, tolerant and friendly approach.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 12.5 per week

**Salary**: From £10.98 per hour
