**Bohunt Education Trust is committed to creating ‘game-changers’ and the outdoor programme forms a key part of that due to its ability to build confidence, self-esteem, resilience, teamwork, communication and a variety of other skills and attitudes in our students.**

The Apprentices work with the Director of Outdoor Education to run safe, enjoyable and enriching Outdoor Learning sessions for students across the Bohunt Education Trust, whilst achieving your Level 3 qualification as an Outdoor Activity instructor.

You will also have the opportunity to gain other National Governing Body qualifications such as:

- Level 3 Outdoor First Aid
- British Canoeing Foundation Safety & Rescue Training
- British Canoeing Paddlesport Instructor Award
- Lowland Walk Leader Training & Assessment
- Mountain Training Climbing Wall Instructor Training
- Bushcraft Personal Skills
- Walking & Navigation Skills - 2 days

You will be teaching & facilitating a variety of skill sessions including bushcraft/wilderness survival, paddling, hiking, character/leadership development, and climbing and you will also have the opportunity to work with the Duke of Edinburgh programme.

Bohunt Trust are looking for someone who loves exploring the Outdoors, has excellent communication and organisational skills, and can prove their commitment to completing their qualification. Experience of leading groups of students is desirable but not essential.

Main Duties:

- Assist other leaders in providing Outdoor Learning which develops students who are game-changers
- Provide excellent instruction, communication, engagement, and safe management in the delivery of your work
- Lead high-quality outdoor activity provision as experience and competence progresses
- Meet deadlines associated with the apprenticeship programme
- Support the development of Outdoor Education in BET
- Assist in administration and the upkeep and maintenance of equipment as required.

Essential Skills and Expertise:

- An enthusiasm and drive to develop personal skills and experience in Outdoor Education
- Commitment to developing personal skills to complete apprenticeship and gain appropriate national governing body qualifications in climbing, paddlesports and/or hill walking
- Evidence of own interest and participation in Outdoor Activities
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- **Functional Skills Level 2 or GCSE minimum grade 3/D in Maths and English is essential.**

Essential Details:
£16,500pa for term-time only plus 2 summer weeks (41 weeks plus 6 weeks’ holiday)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week
