**About the role**:
To undertake research into and make publicly accessible the South East Asian collections and other related collections across the Museum. To contribute to the management of the department in support of the Museum Operating Plan and all relevant Museum strategies.

**Key areas of responsibility**:

- To lead research projects on, and beyond, the South East Asian collection including projects involving external partners
- To raise money to support research projects on and beyond the South East Asian collection, including projects involving external partners.
- To make the South East Asian collection, and knowledge about it, publicly accessible via publication, digital, display, and broadcast.
- To lead on upgrading the documentation of the South East Asian collection.
- To lead on improving the display of the South East Asian collection both on
- and off-site

**About you**:

- Experience of a temporary exhibition or gallery refurbishment
- Knowledge of some East or South East Asian languages
- Experience as a supervisor or director of a research or fieldwork project
- Management experience of people, projects, and budgets
