Groundsperson Required

**Purpose**:
**To maintain the grounds around the complex including golf course, cottages, caravan park and marina. To help with general maintenance on site and maintain equipment.**

**Main responsibilities and accountabilities**:

- Cutting golf course (greens, fairways and tees) and around the grounds using ride-on mowers, push mowers and strimmers.
- Repair divots and maintain bunkers.
- Weed and pest control.
- Edging and other lawn maintenance functions.
- Prepare, inspect and help maintain machinery for use and wash, clean and refuel after use.
- Support other staff.
- Refuse collection.
- Leaf blowing, raking and collecting.
- Power washing jetties, pathways etc.
- Cleaning and maintaining exterior of our self-catering cottages including some window cleaning.
- Assist with maintenance on boats if required.
- Help with site works inc. kerbing, fencing etc.
- Changing bulbs and time clocks etc.
- Manual labour Inc. digging, sweeping, cutting/splitting/stacking wood etc.
- Drive company van, tractors, quads etc.
- Winter maintenance to machinery and building including some painting and prep work.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety, and customer needs.
- Any other duties, within reason and capability, as determined by the Directors.

**Personal Specification**:
**Essential**

Ability to work on your own in all weather conditions.

Hard working, good self initiative and ability to show pride in work.

Experience of using grass cutting machinery and ability to look after for such machinery.

Able to work flexibly to ensure business needs are met.

Evidence of good timekeeping and reliability in previous positions.

**Desirable**

Previous grounds maintenance experience.

Ability to drive tractors and quads.

Experience of assisting in kerb laying, fencing, concreting etc.

Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to maintain machinery.

**Core Working hours**:
November - February:
5 day week

Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm

March - October:
5 day week

Monday - Friday, 9am - 5.30pm

Alternative Saturdays (flexible), 9am - 5.30pm with day off during week in lieue of the Saturday.
