**Post Title: Senior Support Worker**

**Hours of Work: Full-Time, 37.5 hours**

**Salary: £11.52 per hour**

**About the Service**:
Acorns is located on our main Cornford Lane site, It provides a wide range of activities for people with a learning disability & complex needs, supporting them to lead interesting, active and rewarding lives.

These daytime activities help people gain new, practical and social skills and provide beneficial therapy. Some people enjoy the opportunity to learn new things or express themselves creatively whilst others choose to pursue a particular interest by studying for their City & Guilds qualifications - practically based qualifications, designed for people with a learning disability and recognized by employers.

**About the Role**:
We are looking for a senior support worker who can lead the team in the absence of the manager, act as shift leader, assist timesheets, complete audits, assist personal care, care plans, risk assessments, be a role model for support workers and promote good practice at all times.

You will work to support and mentor your fellow support workers, to provide support to individuals, enabling each to reach their potential, pursue a fulfilled and chosen lifestyle based on principles of normalisation and informed choice.

This will be done by participating in a programme of activities with service users, providing additional care and support as needed. As well as working on a 1 to 1 basis with individuals who require extra support to participate in their day programme.

We work on both a one to one/two to one and group sessions engaging in a real

variety of activities both at the service and in the community. At the service we do

art, craft, music, cookery, IT, puzzles, games, horticulture, sports and more. In the

community we enjoy scenic walks, bowling, swimming, cycling and outings to name

a few.
