My client, a Southeast London local authority, seek an experienced Manager to support their Commercial Services team to cover a secondment (6 months)

The main purpose of the role:
Total accountability for the management and service development of the Council’s Environment related Commercial Services including Commercial Waste, Markets and Waste services.

To maintain a corporate responsibility for strategic and service issues affecting these Services.

To ensure the strategic performance of these services, working with partners, in reflecting and delivering the Council’s aims and objectives in relation to services.

As a Manager you will:
1. Be responsible for professional advice to Members and the Management Team on all issues relating to Commercial & Customer Services, formulating Group, Divisional and Directorate objectives and policies in these areas.

2. Take overall responsibility for the planning and management of services, ensuring that statutory responsibilities are fully complied with, developing strategies and delivering programmes which meet the Council’s policy objectives, and service and communityneeds.

3. Ensure the delivery of performance objectives, the evaluation of service group performance and provide feedback to Members, Heads of Service, the Executive Director and directorate staff.

4. Ensure the effective deployment of financial resources and compliance with statutory, professional and organisational frameworks.

5. Ensure a high level of professional and managerial expertise and employee development through the motivation, training and support of all employees.

PAYE: £31.95 Ph

Ltd Umbrella: 40.70 ph

PAYE: £224 Per Day

Ltd Umbrella: £285 per day

35-hour week Mon to Fri (full time)

6 months booking open to possible extension
