**Mitie has a great opportunity for a General Operative / Sub-Contractor Controller to join the Central Government & Defence Operations Team.**

**Job Objectives and Responsibilities**:
Responsible to be on site for the day-to-day coordination of Hard & Soft FM services. The site based General Operative / Sub-Contractor Controller will provide support to visiting external contractors ensuring that all sub-contractors are compliant, working safely and providing a quality service. They will have an engineering background and be able to support the site team with small reactive tasks and first responding to high priority calls. They will ensure excellent communication between sub-contractors, site team and Mitie's operational and QHSE team. They will support the operational team with the site compliance records and management of any backlog of works.

**Main Duties**:

- Work review - review/check site service when required including cleaning, landscaping, handyman works etc. Where works have not been carried out to require standard the Co-ordinator to is challenge this and resolve
- Review RAMS and challenge gaps were necessary.
- Escorting where necessary depending on security requirements
- First responding to small reactive tasks and business critical work orders to support the engineering team and troubleshooting to find swift resolutions.
- On the spot audits of contractors during works to ensure compliance with RAMS
- Ensure all contractors follow local site processes including signing in / out rules and act as the single point of contact between sub-contractors and local site team.
- Completing site audits and proactively reporting reactive repair works with the helpdesk.
- To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
- Liaise with project teams to ensure that asset registers are maintained during refurbishments & site compliance records are updated.
- Providing feedback on sub-contractor performance to support the procurement team & supply chain
- Ownership and monitoring work orders to completion in the CAFM and WIP management
- To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
- To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
- To be able to work both as an individual and as a team player

**What we are looking for**

The ability to fully review and assess RAMS, SSOW and communicate and changes required is key to the success of the role as is an understanding of the technical competencies and associated bodies that operate within the FM Industry. A willingness to engage with contractors to ensure they operate to the Mitie Live Safe rules as well as the Client requirement is of paramount importance.

An excellent grasp of English, both spoken and written, is a must as is the ability to review, analyse and prepare formal reporting and fully utilise the electronic systems at Mitie (QSHE, CAFM, BI).

Diplomatic and personable, the post holder will fully engage in Mitie's collaborative culture and have a keen desire to seek and define continuous improvement.

The requirement to specify and lead formal auditing and stakeholder meetings in line with the Mitie policies and procedures is critical to confirming the performance of our sub contracted services.

The post holder must be able to work autonomously and self-direct in accordance with the changing needs of the business.
